HDI Quality Control and Quality Assurance
Introduction
·HDI has developed an Internal Quality Control Program that is second to none.
DMAC in general as external QA management ensures that all tasks are completed in a safe, in time, efficient and effective manner.
·The risky nature of demining made HDI put more attention into this issue from the Headquarter level to the field.
·Every operation staff of HQ must consider following points to meet the requirement:
·To ensure internal and external Quality of work procedures are put in place.

HDI developed and put in place an internal quality control system in the project site which can increase confidence effectiveness, efficiency, and reliability of work the deminers render.

Forming a quality system within each site/team will assist the timely corrective action of the Mine/UXO clearance.

It is the responsibility of all HDI personnel to ensure that the services provided by HDI shall be delivered by application of the Quality Management System to ensure that Quality checks are included in clearance activities.

Quality checks are logical and progressive and do not restrict or hamper clearance activities.
Q/C and QA Officer
The Site Officer is responsible for Q/C and QA of the overall site to do so he may render the service by another person assigned.
In HDI the following QA procedures are standard drills to be carried out as part of the normal Demining process and Q/C and QA officer is responsible for the following:

To ensure that the correct clearance, marking and safety procedures are being employed. Also, make sure Team Leader (TL) and Section Leader (SL) continually monitor the de-miners.

Ensuring that the Site Supervisor follows correct safety regulations for safety distances, the correct wearing of PPE, testing of metal detectors and drills are being observed.

Ensuring that all de-miners are observed during the working day and that drills are correctly applied and any mistakes are immediately rectified.

Performing QC after each shift in one-man drill method and at the end of last shift of two- man-drill.
Mine/UXO clearance Site supervisor/Section Leader (SS/SL)
For better implementing the quality demining worksite, the supervisor has the overall responsibility of the team and the task site allocated to him.
Also, he is responsible for carrying out his Job Description which includes the following points relevant to the quality:

Ensuring that on-site requirements are met before the commencement of work.

Ensuring that all levels of quality and safety checks are being correctly implemented.

The task is being conducted according to the directions received from his Site Officer and in accordance with the Site Operations Plan.

Accurately recording and reporting all task records and data.

Improvement of weak points.

Internal QC/QA Team
Quality Control team will be form from among clearance team and is responsible of the following:
·They are specified to follow up all process of QA and QC; they are working independently on the field under supervision of QA cell.

QA team is responsible to implement 100% SOP on themselves.

If any team has more problems, it’s possible to take them more time for the checking and improvements
-
Take acknowledgement from command for the correction of faults and improvement of weak points.

The filled out form is placed in Task Dossier and a copy must be kept with the Site QA file.
